For the first time this year, the City of Zvornik joined the celebration of the European Mobility Week, which lasts from September 16 to 22, and together with numerous municipalities and cities in Europe, emphasizes the importance of moving people with the goal of a healthier life.
The theme of European Mobility Week 2021 is “Sustainable mobility for a healthier life”, and it will be marked under the slogan “Move sustainably!” Stay healthy!
This time, European Mobility Week focuses on safe walking and cycling, and the benefits that this type of movement can have on our health, the environment and our accounts! Movement as a mode of transport does not emit harmful gases and keeps our cardiovascular system and the body healthier.
It turns out that cities that promote walking and cycling ahead of the use of private motor vehicles are more attractive for living.
In terms of personal health, studies have shown that cyclists live on average two years longer than those who do not use a bicycle and that they take 15% fewer days off, while 25 minutes of faster walking a day can extend your life by up to seven years!
As part of this week, a mobile traffic polygon of 400 m2 will be set up in Zvornik in the yard of the Primary School “Sveti Sava”, where students will be able to receive additional education about traffic, a walk to the Đurđev grad fortress, and together with the Traffic Safety Agency The Serbian and Auto-Moto Association of RS will organize a day for roller skates, a simulator, straight hair and drunk glasses.
