This City is settled in the valley of the green Drina River on the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Serbia.
Zvornik is continuously growing and developing in different areas. As a friendly city Zvornik is a center of the Birac Region. We are very open and warm-hearted hosts for every habitué. Our home was and is the crossroads of many roads. From 2007, when I first time came to the position of the Mayor, we achieved a lot. There are buildings, bridges, hospitals, schools, new parks and playgrounds, kilometers of roads. And certainly, we have to do more. Inputs, ideas and proposals are more than welcome. We organized a team of professionals with energy and commitment at your disposal. Zvornik is prosperous place for living, but with your strength we could become even more hospitable area. Our goal is to be a place of future living and enjoying the life, to be a place worth living for.

Biography
Mr Ivanovic was born on November 3, 1979 in Zvornik.
He finished elementary school in Šepak and Loznica, while secondary education at the Technical School Centre in Karakaj. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of East Sarajevo and is an economist by profession.
He was elected to the position of head of the Finance Department in 2010, and to the position of deputy mayor in 2015. In February 2023, he was elected mayor of Zvornik in early elections.
He started his political career in 2001 as a youth activist. In 2005, he joined the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats and has been active on the political scene in Zvornik and Republika Srpska ever since. Today, he is the member of the Presidency of the City Committee of the SNSD in Zvornik, it is also its vice-president.
He is married and the father of three children.
The Mayor of the City is the executive authority of the local self-government unit. The Mayor represents the local self-government unit, manages the City administration and is responsible for its work. The Mayor is elected by the citizens’ in general direct elections for a period of four years in accordance with the election regulations.
The Mayor is competent to propose the Statute of the City, propose decisions and other general acts to the Assembly, draft and submit to the Assembly for adoption the annual budget, annual balance sheet, economic plan, development plan, investment program, spatial and urban plan and other planning and regulatory documents, relating to land use and management, including the use of public land. Among other things, the Mayor informs the Assembly about all issues within the city’s competence, its rights and obligations, implements local policy in accordance with the decisions of the assembly executes the local budget and ensures the implementation of decisions and other acts of the assembly.
