08.09.2020.

The bridge of King Alexander I Karadjordjevic, after a one-year renovation, was opened for pedestrians on Friday, August 28, 2020.

The works included the revitalization of the steel and road construction of the bridge and the renovation of the lighting. The agreement with the contractor, the company “Enikon gradnja”, was signed in August 2019.

The reconstruction of the bridge was financed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia with 600,000 Euros and the City of Zvornik with 750,000 KM. In the following period, decorative lighting will be done, and negotiations are underway between the two countries on the future appearance of the border crossing, which should be integrated.

The bridge of King Alexander I Karadjordjevic was opened to traffic on January 12, 1930, and was built with the funds of Kraljevina SHS and King Alexander, as his endowment holder.
